Downsizing in the Bayside
Here at Bracken Hall we have extensive experience in helping people find the perfect new property. And as we’ve said before, this doesn’t always mean upsizing. But if you’re downsizing after living in the beautiful Bayside area, where do you go to fulfil your downsizing needs without sacrificing the lifestyle you’ve become used to?
Well the good news is that you may not have to leave Bayside at all.
Although many suburbs in the area are already well-established (for example Brighton, which has a median house price of $2 million but only 2% annual growth), the key to finding your perfect new property may be in the emerging suburbs of the area.
Mentone, south-east of Brighton, is one such suburb to consider. The median house price there is currently just $850K but the annual growth rate is at 4.6%.
Given that that rate is over double what Brighton’s is, it’s likely demand for Mentone property will grow over time, and property value will grow along with it too. Remember that moving somewhere a bit smaller doesn’t have to mean giving up your investment value or delectable beach views.
